Zellers/Target Announcement
Key Points for Customers
In January 2011, an announcement was made that Target Corporation will, over time, purchase the leases for locations currently operated by Zellers stores. Our Zellers customers have asked many questions about how this will affect their stores and the services provided.
We want to start by reinforcing to all of our customers that the earliest point Zellers stores will be affected by this announcement is 2012. Also, not all stores will be affected, as we plan to continue to operate a number of Zellers stores for the foreseeable future.
We are here to serve you and are thankful for your continued patronage. While there are no changes to Zellers products or services planned while stores are operating, it may be helpful to provide further clarity:
PHARMACY
- We appreciate your business and will continue filling your prescriptions and repeats that you have on file with us; our pharmacy staff will continue to provide you with the pharmacy services you are accustomed to.
- At this point, there is no reason for you to take your business elsewhere, since we have no immediate plans to close any Zellers locations and promise to provide you with several months notice if a decision is made to do so.
HBC CREDIT
- There is no change to the HBC MasterCard or HBC Credit Card or where they can be used to pay for purchases.
- The HBC MasterCard and HBC Credit Card can be used at any of our HBC Family of stores: Zellers, the Bay and Home Outfitters. And, if you are an HBC MasterCard holder, you can continue to use your card anywhere MasterCard is accepted worldwide.
- There is no change to your credit balance, where you pay your bill, when your payment is due or the account Terms and Conditions.

HBC REWARDS
- HBC's family of stores - Zellers, the Bay and Home Outfitters - continue to award HBC Rewards points to all of our Rewards card holders. There are no plans to discontinue this very successful program. We appreciate your business and thank you for your continued participation in this program.
- You can continue to earn HBC Rewards points at any of the HBC family of stores: Zellers, the Bay and Home Outfitters and redeem online at www.hbc.com/hbcrewards. HBC Rewards can be redeemed at any of the HBC family of stores: Zellers, the Bay and Home Outfitters regardless of where you earned the points.
- Your HBC Rewards balance will not be affected. We encourage our HBC Rewards members to register your information on our HBC Rewards website www.hbc.com/hbcrewards so that you can track your points balance online and be kept informed of additional offers through a monthly e-statement sent directly to your e-mail address.

RETURNS & REFUNDS
- HBC's refund policy remains unchanged.
- If you purchased a product using your HBC MasterCard or HBC Credit Card, you have 90 days from the purchase date to receive a full refund or exchange (30 days for Home Electronics and Seasonal merchandise).
- If you purchase merchandise with any other method of tender (i.e. cash, debit or 3rd party credit card), you have up to 30 days from the purchase date with receipt to receive a full refund or exchange, which will be applied back to the original tender. After 30 days, and up to a period of 90 days, a refund will be applied to an HBC Gift Card.
- Merchandise returned with a Gift Receipt will be refunded to an HBC Gift Card.
- Merchandise returned or exchanged without a receipt will be applied to an HBC Gift Card at the lowest sale price.
- Zellers continues to offer our Kidurable program - if a child outwears their clothing before they outgrow it, Zellers will replace the clothing for free (some exceptions apply).
- Gift receipts protect products in terms of allowing you to return a product for a refund or exchange.
PRODUCT WARRANTIES
- Manufacturers' warranties on products are valid and remain intact.
- If you purchased an extended warranty plan up until June 30, 2010, your warranty is with Assurant Solutions Canada and they will continue to service your warranty purchases.
- The warranty for TVs is 36 months and 24 months for small electronics.

- On February 28, 2011, Zellers is launching a new and improved Total Guard Protection Plan nationwide with new business partner, 'NEW Canada,' which provides customers with additional protection (in the form or service or replacement) on qualifying items in the Home Electronics department.
